Bazelevs Studios, Meloman Entertainment and Chaplin Mega Park welcome you to a preview screening of the film Search and presentation of a unique filming format Screen life devised by Timur Bekmambetov.

The film is to be released on 27 September 2018.

In January 2018, at the annual Sundance independent film festival (USA), Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions acquired the rights to the film for phenomenal $5M.

Bazelevs Studios is a project of our compatriot Timur Bekmambetov, the first Kazakh director and producer ever to receive not just Hollywood’s acclaim but a box office success. Currently, the Bazelevs Holding’s General Producer is Igor Tsai from Almaty. Today, Bazelevs producers work with such Hollywood majors as Sony and Universal, and ranked in the US Top 10 leading filmmaking companies to launch two significant projects over one summer. The Studio heads, who originally come from Kazakhstan, have a firsthand knowledge of this country’s film market and see an untapped potential in Kazakh creative environment, and are looking for opportunities to attract local talent: writers, directors and producers to its new projects. To support this undertaking, creative labs will be launched in Astana and Almaty, and an arts university in one of these cities will have a new film editing method in its curricula.

Search is a third film shot in Screen Life format, which has its story unfolding on screens of computers and other digital devices. The first film made in Screen Life format, Unfriended, directed by Leo Gabriadze, was sold to Universal for $3M, and brought $64M with a production budget of $1M.

The second film, Profile, is an investigation into the recruitment of young women by jihadists on social media and was a festival hit and viewers’ choice of Panorama, 2nd most important Berlin Film Festival program. Soon, another Screen Life film, Unfriended 2, will hit the cinemas, and it was also acquired by Universal.
